Nicolas Piccolo-Leeser is a senior global procurement and strategic sourcing professional based in Zurich, Switzerland. With more than 16 years of international experience, he has led high-value IT, telecommunications, and indirect spend categories across healthcare, manufacturing, and service sectors.
He currently serves as Senior Global Commodity Manager ICT at Mediclinic Group – Hirslanden AG, where he oversees source-to-contract processes for software, hardware, and telecommunications agreements of up to USD 21 million. He has negotiated with leading global suppliers, including SAP, Microsoft, Cisco, Huawei, Dell, and Honeywell, and has managed a procurement pipeline of more than USD 50 million while delivering cost savings in excess of 15 percent.
Previously, he held senior procurement and strategic project roles at Vetropack Holding AG, Compass Group Schweiz AG, gategroup, and Sulzer Management AG. His work has included group-wide category strategy, SAP S/4HANA implementation, supplier consolidation, ESG-aligned procurement frameworks, fleet and contract management, and the introduction of centralised procurement systems.
Mr. Piccolo-Leeser combines analytical procurement expertise with a people-centred leadership approach. He has completed executive education at Harvard Medical School, Stanford University, the University of Oxford, and Rice University, and is the author of Your Guide to Mindful Living. He speaks English, German, French, and Italian.
In recognition of his professional achievements in global procurement, strategic sourcing, and organisational improvement, QAHE and AUBSS have jointly awarded him the Doctor of Management (Honoris Causa) in Global Procurement and Strategic Sourcing.
