CPA Assoc. Prof. Joseph Baleke Yiga Lubega is a distinguished academic and professional in the fields of accounting and finance, with over 30 years of extensive experience. Based in Kampala, Uganda, he holds several prestigious qualifications, including a PhD in Business Administration from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, an MBA in Finance from Makerere University, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the same institution. His academic credentials are further complemented by senior certifications from recognized institutions, including the Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners in the UK and the Certified Public Accountants bodies in Uganda and Kenya.

 

Prof. Lubega has dedicated over 17 years to teaching at various esteemed universities, including Ndejje University, Uganda Management Institute, and Kyambogo University. His roles have spanned from lecturer to senior administrative positions, including Dean and Acting Vice Chancellor at Uganda Technology and Management University. His leadership in academia has been instrumental in shaping curricula and promoting quality education across disciplines.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Lubega has a rich background in accounting and auditing. He was a managing partner at LOOCHI Associates, where he led numerous audits for businesses and organizations across Uganda. His expertise extends to risk management, financial reporting, and treasury management, making him a sought-after consultant in the public and private sectors.

 

Prof. Lubega is also a prolific researcher and author, having published several articles and textbooks in accounting and finance. His commitment to advancing knowledge in his field is evident through his supervision of numerous graduate research projects and dissertations. Recognized for his contributions to academia, he has recently been awarded the Distinguished Professorship in Accounting and Finance by QAHE and AUBSS, a testament to his dedication and impact in the field.
